Ingredients

For the Cocktail

  • 2 oz vodka premium quality recommended
  • 1 oz Midori melon liqueur
  • ½ oz fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz triple sec
  • 2 oz lemon-lime soda
  • Ice cubes both for shaking and serving

For Garnish

  • Fresh lime wheel
  • Maraschino cherry
  • Optional: Green sugar for rim

Instructions

  • Before you start, take out all your ingredients and tools. This will make everything easier.
  • Start by putting your tall glass in the freezer to chill. This takes about 5 minutes and will make your drink extra cold and refreshing.
  • While your glass is chilling, cut a fresh lime in half and squeeze out the juice. You need about half an ounce (that's one good squeeze from half a lime).
  • If you want to make it extra fancy, you can rim your glass with green sugar. Just rub a lime wedge around the rim and dip it in green sugar.
  • Fill your cocktail shaker with ice - about ¾ full is perfect.
  • Pour in 2 ounces of vodka (that's about 2 shot glasses).
  • Add 1 ounce of Midori (1 shot glass).
  • Pour in your fresh lime juice (half a shot glass).
  • Add half an ounce of triple sec (half a shot glass).
  • Put the lid on your shaker tightly and shake it well for about 15 seconds - until the shaker feels really cold in your hands.
  • Take your glass out of the freezer and fill it with fresh ice.
  • Strain your cocktail from the shaker into your cold glass.
  • Top it off with about 2 ounces of Sprite or 7UP (2 shot glasses).
  • Give it a gentle stir with your spoon - just a few turns to mix everything.
  • For the final touch, add a slice of lime and a cherry on top.
