Story behind Steep & Stone
Hi. I am Jehan Grace. My coffee journey isn’t just about the perfect brew, it’s literally in my DNA.
Picture tiny me in our family’s cozy coffee shop back in the Philippines, perched on a stool, completely mesmerized by the sound of the espresso machine and the rich aroma of freshly ground beans. That shop was our everything until COVID hit and forced us to close our doors. But plot twist: that ending sparked a whole new beginning.
The coffee bug never left (shocking, right?). I went all in, got my barista certification, and yes, did my time at the “Green Mermaid” (iykyk 😉). While the corporate coffee life taught me tons, my heart was pulling me toward something bigger in the food industry.
But here’s where it gets interesting, I fell head over heels for tea, especially the whole milk tea scene. My kitchen turned into this mad scientist lab where I’d experiment with flavors, and my passport got stamped chasing authentic tea experiences across Southeast Asia. Who knew you could be equally obsessed with both teams?
After years of filling up Notes apps and random journals with recipes, I was like “okay, these need a proper home.” That’s how Steep & Stone was born, a digital cozy corner where I spill all my beverage secrets, from that perfect cold brew ratio to that one boba recipe that took 17 tries to nail.
Frequently Asked Questions
“Steep” represents the art of extracting flavors (hello, tea people!) while “Stone” is a nod to grinding coffee beans. Plus, it sounds cool and mysterious, just like your barista crush who always spells your name wrong.
Plot twist: I’m that chaotic neutral who lives for both! Some days I’m measuring coffee grounds to the 0.1g, other days I’m doing a full-on traditional tea ceremony. No choosing favorites in this house!
Most recipes come with both “fancy equipment” and “broke bestie” versions. Because let’s be real – not everyone has a $500 espresso machine lying around. I got you with alternatives!
That’s because they are! These are my personal takes on drinks developed through countless 3 AM experiments and “maybe this will work” moments. Think of them as remixes of the classics.
If your brand vibes with my coffee-tea chaotic energy, let’s talk! But heads up, I only work with products I actually use and love. Your girl keeps it 💯
